Woodland Park is the perfect place to grab a meal before or after a day of outdoor activities! Located just 25 minutes from Colorado Springs in Teller County, you will often drive through Woodland Park as you make your way into the mountains to hike, ski, rock climb, raft, or camp. And Woodland Park restaurants are perfect for a breakfast burrito, hot sandwich, or a slice (or two!) of pizza.
No matter what time of day you are passing through, there are great food And Drink options in Woodland Park.
The Best Restaurants in Woodland Park for Breakfast
If your morning starts in Woodland Park or you’re driving through on your way to adventure the mountains, you have some great options for breakfast! Here are the top spots. NOTE: ALL of these places do serve lunch as well.
Cafe Leo
Best for first. Because I LOVE this place. Cafe Leo has a perfect aesthetic (I mean, the mountain views…phew) with great food and a relaxing vibe. Located right on E Midland Ave, stop in before your morning hike and grab a latte and a breakfast sandwich to fuel your day.
It’s a welcoming spot where you will find both locals and tourists, as well as a friendly staff. Though of course, you might want to grab and go, it is a tough place to leave! So maybe enjoy your breakfast (or lunch!) at a table inside or out.
I recommend an Americano and The Lumberjack (breakfast sandwich) on an Everything Bagel.
Hungry Bear Restaurant
Hungry Bear is an old-school, classic all-day breakfast place with plenty of comfort foods. The entire space is bear-themed with cuddly stuffed animals lining the walls. Do your best to get here early because it tends to get pretty slammed, especially on weekends.
They are best known for their fresh, homemade pancakes in a variety of flavors. If sweet isn’t what you are going for, don’t worry, they have an extensive menu full of omelets, skillets, and other classic breakfasts. Order a fluffy buttermilk biscuit or one of the breakfast burritos.
Worth noting: the portions are HUGE. Keep that in mind if you are planning to hike afterward!
Grandmother’s Kitchen
Grandmother’s Kitchen is another no-frills, classic American breakfast spot with all of your favorite foods! They serve breakfast all day as well including scrambles, pancakes, fresh toast, and eggs benedict.
Stop in this popular cafe if you are in the mood for a little home cooking and you won’t be disappointed.
The Best Restaurants in Woodland Park for Happy Hour
Rhapsody
This is a funky, bohemian-style bar with a ton of character that provides a great experience! Rhapsody is focused on music, cocktails, and delicious food with fresh ingredients. Their team members provide great service and are always down for a fun conversation.
Rhapsody cocktails are the star of the show so come for happy hour and a few small bites. The cocktail list feels endless and they also serve beer, wine, and tequila flights. And Rhapsody’s food menu offers a variety of bruschetta, charcuterie boards, and flatbreads. You truly cannot go wrong—everything is SO fresh.
I recommend the Grazioso Gimlet cocktail. And my go-to’s off the food menu are the Tambourine Traditional Bruschetta and the Proscuitto Jazz Flatbread.
HAPPY HOUR: Weekdays, $1 off signature cocktails and $6 sangria from 2-5 PM.
BierWerks
Right down the street from Rhapsody, you’ll spot BierWerks, a brewery offering German-style beers like lagers and ales—with a few hoppy options as well. Sit out on the outdoor patio or find a table inside where it’s all things German including rotating beer steins on the ceiling! My favorite part? Pints of beer are only $5—great value! Talk about all-day happy hour.
Bierwerks has a rotation of beers as well as small(ish) bites like Colorado sausages, Wisconsin cheese, and pretzels. There is often a food truck in the parking lot as well.
I recommend a pint (or 4) of Helles and a pretzel.
Peak View BBQ & Taproom
Next on the list is Peak View BBQ & Taproom. This place has a regular-style restaurant in the front with tables and your standard wait service. But my favorite part about Peak View BBQ is the taproom. TVs, music, mountain views, and big beers! It’s a great place post-hike or just to catch a game.
Find a seat at the bar, peruse their beer menu, and grab a 22 oz.-er! Their friendly staff can help you pick which beer you will like best. And if you’re hungry, grab a few appetizers like the smoked fried chicken wings, rib bites, and cheese curds.
Note: while there isn’t an official “happy hour,” I just like drinking here so I added it to this section! 🙂
The Best Restaurants in Woodland Park for Lunch or Dinner
110 Reserve
You can consider 110 Reserve a Woodland Park “Must-Visit!” My first time here, I was hooked. Inside has a modern mountain vibe with a wood interior and cute decor. They also have a perfect outdoor space (including an enclosed area) with string lights, fire pits, blankets, heat lamps, and mountain views. It is a top-notch setting and run by good people!
In addition to a great vibe, 110 Reserve serves cocktails that are all handmade (without pre-made mixes) so don’t skip out on a Perfect Margarita or Woodland Mule. Also, check out the food menu which offers simple, new-age eats with fresh ingredients.
I recommend your favorite cocktail and the Caprese Bouche (pictured below!) Mine is the Cucumber Maragarita.
Fiesta Mexicana
Who can deny tacos? And, of course, the chips and salsa to start? Fiesta Mexicana is an authentic Mexican restaurant with an extensive menu full of options. Stop in here for a hot plate of good food and a margarita that will make your taste buds happy. (The latter doesn’t skimp on the good stuff!) The vibe inside is vibrant, upbeat, and colorful.
I recommend a two-taco combo—one shredded beef, and the other chicken. Plus, a classic margarita with salt.
Carmen, A Tapas Grill & Bar
If you’re on a little date day or night, Carmen, A Tapas Grill & Bar is one of the best restaurants to stop in and enjoy the dining experience! They have a great cocktail menu, as well as tasty tapas options to go along with your drink.
Choose empanadas, fried calamari, and bison sliders for a little taste of everything! Or go with one of the entrees like beef brisket or salmon.
Joanie’s Deli
Joanie’s Deli is really the perfect stop any time of day and a great place to refuel after a hike! Find a table inside or opt for outdoor seating that includes mountain views. You can also order the perfect sandwich to-go and bring it with you to enjoy during your hike. That said, their hot sandwiches are some of the best so you might have a hard time waiting to dig in.
The deli serves premium Boar’s Head meats and cheeses, plus a variety of breads to make your sandwich exactly how you like it! Don’t forget to add a homemade soup to the order. And a tasty baked good!
It’s tough to pick a recommendation. Go with your gut here because you can’t go wrong!
A.J.’s Stone Oven American Pizzeria
Some days you just need to kick the pizza craving! And this no-frill, counter-service pizza joint can help you out. AJ’s Stone Oven American Pizzeria serves freshly made, stone oven-baked pies on either thin or original crust in classic varieties at an affordable price. Select an option from the menu like The Butchershop, Garden, or Meatball. Or, create your perfect pizza yourself by choosing the toppings.
If the whole group wants pizza and you’re not vibin’ it, no worries. AJ’s has sandwich options (I like AJs Sub with Chicken), pasta, salads, wings, and other appetizers. Plus, they serve beer and wine when you dine in.
